Welcome to the Trash to Treasure Movement Blog

Ashley Kurth

Welcome!

I’m glad you found me. I’m a mom of two young boys, in my early 40s, and I’m worried about the future of our planet.

In 2017, I decided to channel that worry into reducing waste and making things out of other people’s unwanted materials, or “trash” with my small business, Paloma Vintage Designs.

From there I decided to expand my focus and highlight all the amazing people who are creating a difference transforming people’s trash into treasure, making the world a little more eco-savvy, and leaving things better than they found it with the Trash to Treasure Movement (which, until this blog, has lived on the Instagram/Facebook handles of @TrashToTreasureMovement.)

I’m not perfect. I still buy some things new. I don’t compost. I (reluctantly) eat meat. I try to recycle, but am not always consistent. I drive a SUV. You get the point. I’m just an average mom trying to make some sort of positive change. No preaching here, just idea sharing.

My hope for this blog is to inspire more people to take tiny steps to become more sustainable in their shopping choices. Little changes add up and influence larger consumption patterns. There is hope if we work together.

Let’s start a revolution.
